A South Asian Inspiration by Creative Expressions
Anita Philips loves South Asian Weddings because of the detail and tradition that goes into each one. Stunning decor, luxurious fabrics, rich colours, ornate, intricate, glamorous bridal attire, lavish rituals, lively cultural dancing and delicious food. Today, she shares her expertise creating outstanding invites for South Asians throughout Montreal.
I had the opportunity to work with two very lovely couples to design two absolutely stunning South Asian inspired invitations, created in Red and Gold.
The first invitation was created with beautiful handmade, linen textured paper imported from India, embossed with a stunning golden foil floral design. The interior was printed on a rich cream linen cardstock with intricate gold detailing in the corners and along the top and bottom. Since the wedding incorporated many events and rituals we required a lot of print space, so we designed an accordion fold with four panels. The invitation was then wrapped with a pretty satin ribbon and placed in an elegant box for delivery.
The second invitation is an elegant silk folio. We used a deep red silk with satin gold ribbon work and a very elegant crystal brooch closure. The interior invitation was printed on a golden metallic cardstock and the two side pockets held the enclosures with the various events taking place both prior to, during and after the actual wedding ceremony. This invitation set was a very unique and elegant introduction to this very lavish affair.
