This was an L-Session (or love-photo-session) to create photographic memories for couples who want a fun, photoshoot without it being an official ‘engagement’.  This was Fojan & Alexis first time in Canada together & what a fabulous way to remember it …. right in time for Valentine’s Day!

Someone recently asked me regarding my stock portfolio, about how I felt regarding the latest fears about Greece, the Euro, higher banking fees, and higher consumer debt, “How do you sleep at night, knowing that all your money is in stocks?”

I sleep very well, because I ignore the media noise. There is just too much chatter about economic doom and gloom on the internet, radio, and television. Reality and what the media portrays are two different things. The media is focused on selling advertising space, and bad news sells papers and increases television ratings.

You have to learn to ignore the media noise, stick to common sense, stick to the value investing approach and you will do very well for yourself. The economy has endured the oil crisis, the tech bubble, 9/11, the war in Afghanistan, war in Iraq, the credit crunch, and recessions. History has shown that the economy has survived, and there still exist companies today that have been paying dividends for more than 100 years. Those are the types of companies that I invest in, I teach you how to select quality recession-proof companies, when they are undervalued, So relax, time is on your side, there is no need to panic.

I sleep quite well, and so should you.

The images were so beautiful, the warmth of the couple made editing a pleasure, and the lighting and colour were inspiring. In fact, everything seemed almost too perfect and therefore…a little intimidating.

Sue and Arif’s wedding unfolded in parts. The first two ceremonies were held on a Friday evening in Brossard, and they were definitely entertaining. It’s always great to see eggs smashed on someone’s heads and flour poured all over them. Just glad we weren’t the ones driving Arif home.  Sue’s Friday ceremony was a quite the opposite, as you can see from the clip. No eggs. Just amazing outfits, traditional dances, lots of gifts and beautiful smiles.

Saturday’s ceremony and reception were also fun and beautiful. We had traveled to India to film, a few years ago, and we therefore have a special attachment to the traditions and culture. And the food, of course.

The beginning of the New Year is a great time to plan for the future. Plan on how you will be able to earn more passive income this year than last year. Here are 3 tips to help you earn more:

1. Remain Focused

Ignore all the media noise about debt, high unemployment, and downturns. Do not jump from one strategy to the next. Stay focused on investing in quality dividend paying companies when they are undervalued.

2. Patience

Investing requires patience, in the short term stock prices go up and down, in the long-term history has shown that value stocks perform very well. This is why I teach in the Simply Investing course that any money you require in less than 5 years (to buy a house, car, or go on a trip) should not be invested in stocks. Investing in stocks requires a a long-term outlook.

3. Buy Low

Remember the saying “buy low, sell high”? Buy quality stocks when they are priced low (undervalued), this way you can maximize your profit. There is no point in buying any investment (mutual fund, stock, index fund, real estate) when it is priced high, you will never make any money on it or it will take decades to realize a small profit.
